After several months' testing Derco Herkenbosch have added Dertryl polyester sealed edges (Dercap) to their range
of fabrication possibilities. These edges enclose the entire side of the conveyor belt, thus preventing the ingress of moisture or
dirt on the belt. As a result, belts stay cleaner and will have a longer lifespan.
The special characteristics of this type
of sealed edges are as follows:
· Available in the colours white and blue and complies with FDA prescriptions.
· Although designed for Dertryl (polyester) belts, it can also be used for both PVC and PU belt types and has an exceptionally
high adhesion. ·The material is very abrasion resistant.Back to top of the page.

| In May our ISO 9001:2000 certificate was renewed for another year. The annual audit that was held by the certifying
organisation gave a positive result. This means that our quality management system for development, sales and manufacturing still
complies with the rules and conditions of the ISO standard. The system helps us in our continuous efforts to offer you products and
services of outstanding quality and a high - and constant - level of flexibility and inventivity. Back to top of the page.

In the past years our polyethylene (PE) belting has proven its worth, not only in the tobacco industry it was
originally designed for, but in industrial bakeries and the dairy & cheese industry as well. Our belting range for these
applications has recently been renewed.
Due to technical limitations we were unable to produce our former range of PE belts
at widths greater than 1900 mm. Meanwhile, however, we have managed to develop a new series of belting products. Their production
widths range from 2000 to 3200 mm, making it possible to use them in a much wider range of applications. Also, these materials are
more competitively priced.
In the coming weeks we will be sending out a Product Introduction for our range of PE belts, also
including the already very popular Dertryl (DT) polyester belts, which due to their high abrasion resistance and good temperature
resistance can be used under more extreme conditions.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or if you
would like to receive a quotation for this material.Back to top of the page.

Recently we introduced 5 new PU belt types to our customers worldwide. The belts are suitable for use in the food industry, especially for bakeries and the confectionery industry. Four of them can be used for all unpacked foodstuffs, the 5th – in dark green – for packed foodstuffs only. They are an addition to our existing range of (S)PU belt types. Due to a special production process these are very flexible materials with very thin top covers. They can be used on conveyors with very small drum diameters. Moreover, a high-density type of PU is used, which makes it even easier to keep the belts clean. An important issue in these markets.
As these materials are slightly different from the existing (S)PU types we offer a special type of splicing foil for this material. This is, of course, available at the same price as the other type of PU foil. Please ask our Customer Service Department for advice.
As mentioned above we have recently sent out our product introduction, including samples, datasheets and an introduction letter, to our customers around the world. If you think these materials could be interesting for your application, please feel free to contact us.

Derco's material 2RMA 4m-1 DT proves to be highly successful in very sticky applications. Most recently, through one of our distributors, the material was sold to major chewing gum manufacturers Wrigley's in Toronto, Canada. This is the second belt of this type they are using for the same application: the belt is used to receive the gum as it comes out of the mixer, and before it is powdered. This is the stickiest application Wrigley's has.
They have tried other belts, but they tell us Derco's material is the only style they have tried that provides the release and cleaning properties they need. Meeting FDA and USDA requirements and having succesfully passed pyrolysis tests the material is suitable for a wide range of applications involving unpacked foodstuffs (including dough) and tobacco. You are very welcome to contact us for more information on this belt type or on our solutions for other sticky applications.
Wrigley's, who are located around the world, were already using our belt type 2RA 10dt 15-8r N white in their UK facility and are very contented with Derco's belting material.

Our slogan ‘Quality Develops Reliability’ has taken on a new dimension. On July 3, 2003 Derco was certified according to NEN-EN-ISO 9001: 2000 (certificate no. NL4250). This means our quality management system for development, sales and manufacturing complies with the rules and conditions of the ISO standard.
By registering our procedures and obtaining this certificate we have safeguarded the quality of our products and services for now and the future. Although we trust the certification of our procedures to guarantee consistency in our operations and services, it goes without saying that you can expect the same high level of service, flexibility and inventivity from us that you are used to.

2LRA 5-0 SIR replaced by 2SLRA 2-1 SIR white.
Unfortunately three months ago our silicone supplier decided to
stop production - and therefore supply - of this product. In the past months we have therefore been looking for suitable alternatives.
However, since we pursue production of high-quality products, the search proved to be very difficult.
For our 2-ply belt with
silicone cover and inner layer, specifically for conveying hot and / or sticky products we have now found a solution:
As of June
20 next Derco Herkenbosch will keep stock of type 2SLRA 2-1 SIR white. Technical information is available from the product information
database on our website. Please note the maximum width is 1200 mm.
Belt types 1BRA 2-1 SIR white & 2BRA 2-1 SIR/N white
We regret we have not found the right solution for all types of silicone belts. For types 1BRA 2-1 SIR and 2BRA 2-1 SIR/N we
have not been able to meet our needs for 2003.
We have been looking for alternative solutions for some time now, without a
definite result. Although we expect to find a solution within a reasonably short term, for the time being this means that as soon as the
current stock is sold out this silicone material will not be available until further notice.
Our R&D department are, however,
working on this continuously and we trust that we will find a suitable solution soon. You will be informed of any further developments.

The conveyor belt is a dynamic object, and also the market and therefore the developments in plastic conveyor and
process belting are continuously in motion. As a result Derco is announcing several improvements and innovations once again.
Wider, cheaper belts for e.g. tobacco, cigarette industry
We received regular requests for halogen free belting materials in
widths of approximately 3000 mm for the tobacco and cigarette industry. Unfortunately we could not realize such a width for our
existing types 2PFR 3m-1 PE, 2PFE 3m-1 PE and 3PFE 3m-1 PE. Meanwhile we have succeeded in developing two new belt types which can
indeed be supplied on 3000 mm width.
2HESA 4m-1 PE transparent
2HRSA 4m-1 PE transparent
Apart from an increased
production width these two products have the added ADVANTAGE that their price is about 10% lower than that of the old types 2PFR 3m-1 PE
and 2PFE 3m-1 PE (which are also still available though)!!Back to top of the page.

Belt types 2LRA 1-1 N black and 3LRA/RX 1-0 F black can be a different shade of black at each production run. In order
to solve this problem permanently we have been looking for a structural solution.
In February 2003, we have send samples
2LRAZ 1-1 N black and 3LRAZ/RX 1-0 F black and productinformationsheets to all our belting distributors
For 2LRAZ 1-1 N black,
please check our productinformationsheet because the required force for 1% elongation is lower as with 2LRA 1-1 N black!!Back to top of the page.

Our profiling possibilities are being expanded. On request of one of our customers we are adding the tw or twisted wire
profile to the range. This profile is especially suited for use in bakeries for dough processing. The maximum production width for this
profile will be 1300 mm (51 3/16").
Meanwhile, the bw (basketweave) profile is now available on a maximum width of 3250 mm. The
belt type we produce with this profile is used for conveying insulating materials such as glass wool and rock wool. In this industry
many belts have a width of 2800 - 3000 mm (110" - 128"), which was the main reason for changing the maximum width. ... and more to come
Beginning of February 2003, we will have testproduction of WAVEGRIP, to find out minimum required thickness and decide upon
which product we will include in our standard range, which we keep in stock. A sample and productinformationsheet will be send to all
belting distributors.
In the meantime we have also added 'md' (middle size diamond, between "fr" and "r") Details, application
etc. will be issued soon.Back to top of the page

We have recently been granted global approval for use of our range of tobacco belting at all factories of British
American Tobacco (BAT) around the world. Derco offer a complete range of belts for tobacco processing, which have been tested by BAT
and approved.
This approval is a clear sign from this major player in the tobacco market that our belting is of the high quality
necessary in a market where regulations get stricter every year.
